Control of a surface photochemical process by fractal electron transport across the surface: [O.sub.2] photodesorption from Ti[O.sub.2](110)
Article Abstract:
The photodesorption of [O.sub.2] from Ti[O.sub.2](110) was found to exhibit fractal kinetic behavior. This electron percolation, causing electron-hole recombination, reduces the efficiency of charge transfer between a photoproduced hole and a [O.sub.2][.sup.-](a) species localized at a vacancy defect site, causing the rate of [O.sub.2] photodesorption to follow a fractal rate law.

Photochemical activity of nitrogen-doped rutile TiO2(110) in visible light
Article Abstract:
The photochemical reduction of Ag+ ions in aqueous solutions was measured to determine the photoactivity in the threshold region of rutile. It was found that the capture of photogenerated electrons on the TiO2 surface by Ag+ ions causes the deposition of metallic silver and can, therefore, be directly used for quantification of the photoeffect on TiO2.

Adsorption and thermal decomposition of 2-chloroethyl-ethyl sulfide on TiO2 surfaces
Article Abstract:
The adsorption, desorption and oxidative decomposition of the 2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide molecule is investigated on the TiO2(110) surface and on high area anatase and rutile powdered samples. A combination of measurement tools is employed.
